or is it preferable to book earlier on the net. I mean, its allways better to see the hotel you are staying in, as long as the prices dont skyrocket

  1. It is usually better here to book on the net as walk in prices can sometimes be higher – - I am thinking of going down for a week around then too – - it is off season and prices should be discounted – - I have not shoped around yet, but if you find anything good, let me know…

  2. Plan and simple NO. Best rates are usually online, or if you can get the phone number of the resort to call and ask for a better rate.

  5. Good? do you mean like 5 stars or just a clean room with a good bed.

5 star, it will be the net. For everthing else book when you get there, Thailand is built on TAT (thailand authority of tourism) stores, there everywhere with people to help you find a room, travel domestically or sightsee. Thats what I did when I went to ao-nang which is near krabi and got a four star room for $15 a night.

  6. Usually, the cheapest rates are given over the internet. Occasionally you bargain for a lower price in some of the smaller hotels, but the larger ones are usually fairly strict about rates and will even tell you that it’s cheaper over the internet. You should try websites like:

    Agoda.com
    Asiativ.com
    hoteltravel.com
