Thailand – One of the World’s Most Popular Dive Destinations
Thailand is arguably the world's most frequented dive destination welcoming over 550,000*1 dive tourists a year. The number of overseas divers who come to enjoy Thailand’s spectacular dive sites each year has increased by more than ten-fold from 25,000 divers2 in 1985.

Asia Dive Expo (ADEX) is Asia's largest and longest running trade and consumer exhibition for the dive industry and related businesses and is firmly established as the superior platform for business and networking for the dive industry in Asia over the past 12 years. Returning once again to Bangkok, ADEX brings together the very best for trade and consumer under one roof in its 13th edition in 2007.

ASIA DIVE EXPO 2007 MAKES WAVES IN BANGKOK
The long-anticipated venue announcement for Asia Dive Expo (ADEX) 2007, which will be held from 27-29 April, has been revealed today by show organiser, Suntec Integrated Media (SIM). "Following extensive research and careful consideration of all factors involved, including valuable feedback from exhibitors and partners, we will be bringing ADEX back to Bangkok in 2007 and the Bangkok International Trade & Exhibition Centre (BITEC) is our hand-picked venue," said Roel van Leeuwen, Director of Suntec Integrated Media. "Thailand is one of Asia's most important dive markets while ADEX is the biggest international dive show in Asia. There are excellent synergies between the venue and the show which will be harnessed to benefit exhibitors, partners and all involved in ADEX 2007."

ADEX 2007 will also be held in conjunction with the inaugural Boat Thai, organised by Suntec Integrated Media and conceived as a close partner to Boat Asia, Asia's leading boat show. Two mega international water-themed events on the same weekend and at the same venue promise to create waves in Bangkok from 27-29 April next year.

"Thailand is proud to be the host country for a stellar international dive show like ADEX," said Khun Anong Chaochankit, Director, International Sales Promotion Division, Tourism Authority of Thailand. "Over the years, Thailand has evolved to become one of the world's most popular dive destinations while ADEX has grown to become a milestone event in the calendars of anyone serious about doing dive business in Asia. The fit is perfect, and we look forward to a record-breaking show in 2007."

In its 13th edition, ADEX 2007 aims to attract 10,000 visitors, including 2,000 trade visitors and 1,000 international exhibitors, by offering an indispensable platform for dive business and networking, as well as excellent programming. ADEX 2007 will feature the winning highlights that made ADEX 2006 a record-breaking event. Exhibitors and trade visitors can look forward to the Dive Business Seminar Series, which will be held one day earlier on 26 April to allow full attendance from all participants at ADEX. The Dive Travel Hub @ ADEX will be a crowd magnet, showcasing the most popular and the least travelled dive destinations in Asia. ADEX 2007 will also incorporate a comprehensive Hosted Travel Buyers programme that benefits destinations, resort and live-aboard operators, while distributors can look forward to updates from the major dive equipment owners.

An extensive international and local marketing campaign worth over USD 750,000 will push ADEX 2007 to greater heights. The multi-faceted marketing blitz will seamlessly combine media partnerships with international, regional and local print and broadcast channels; direct marketing to a targeted database of more than 80,000 divers; online, outdoor and below-the-line marketing; strategic partnerships with key dive industry stakeholders; cross promotional opportunities with Boat Thai; and excellent press relations and media coverage.

Following the success of ADEX 2006 in Singapore, which saw 175 exhibiting companies from 24 countries and a staggering 9,200 visitors over three days, exhibitors have registered keen support for next year's show. "ADEX is an excellent meeting point for regional distributors to get updated on the latest products and services. We had overwhelming response from our retailers and agents. We definitely look forward to a bigger presence in 2007," said Cesare Benelli, General Manager, Siam Diving Enterprises Asia Pacific Co. Ltd. (Coltri Sub Asia Pacific).

Dr. Drew Richardson, President and Chief Operating Officer, PADI Worldwide also added, "There was keen response to PADI's presence at ADEX and we were happy to meet with so many of our members and friends during the event. There was an excellent mix of divers who wanted to deepen their diving acumen and non-divers who wanted to learn more. ADEX 2006 was a great success - very well-organised and full of excitement. We will definitely be present at ADEX 2007."

Asia Dive Expo (ADEX), held from 27-29 April 2007 at BITEC, Bangkok, Thailand, is organised by Suntec Integrated Media, a full-fledged exhibition organiser committed to offering value-added, innovative and creative media and business strategies, which are designed to deliver targeted industry exposure as well as the key objective of exhibitions bringing buyers and sellers together. SIM is a division of Suntec Singapore.
