Adventure & Sports: Chiang Rai This northernmost province shares the border with Laos and Myanmar. Several hilltribes populate its hills and mountains: Hmong, Muser, Karen, Lisu, Akha, each with their own customs and dialect. Available at Mae Kok Elephant Camp on the bank of the Mae Kok. You can take a ride through the surrounding forest and to nearby Karen hilltribe villages.

Bamboo rafts and inflatable boats are available for the journey down the Mae Kok, the province’s major artery.
- Hilltribe Treks
