South of Krabi, half way between Phuket and the Malaysian border, the coastal province of Trang is poised to establish itself on the international travel map. It can be reached by air in one hour from Bangkok.
As yet little developed, although international-standard hotels are opening up, Trang has both mainland beaches and a whole string of offshore islands just waiting to be discovered. Cruising the coastal waters, visiting such notable sights as the enchanting Emerald Cave, accessible only by water, is a major attraction. For those clients who want to relax and unwind in the midst of stunning scenery, Trang is the perfect recommendation. There’s the Mu Ko Petra National Park with beaches and islands lapped by the warm Andaman Sea waters. Some of the dive sites here are world class. There are also wildlife sanctuaries such as Khao Chong and Khlong Lamchan Waterfowl Park with waterfalls, nature trails and caves.
