Pattaya

Pattaya is one of the most popular destinations among tourists from all over the world. An easy
journey from Bangkok, it takes just about 40 minutes driving from Suvarnabhumi Airport to Pattaya.
There is a road alongside the beach, surrounded by hotels, restaurants, and entertainment opportunities.
The island located not too far from Pattaya, Koh Lan, is well known for its beautiful coral.

For accommodation choices, Pattaya can be divided into four main areas: North, Central, South, and Jomtien Beach. Different styles are available – hotels, resorts or guest houses – varying by quality, taste, and budget. Accommodations in North Pattaya and Jomtien Beach have a nice quiet atmosphere. This is the best choice for a family or someone who prefers privacy. For the party-goers who love entertainment every day and night, the accommodations in Central and South Pattaya are recommended. There are many hotels, especially on Pattaya Beach Road and Pattaya 2nd Road.

Pattaya Beach also features many leading world-class chain hotels such as Sheraton, Marriott, and Best Western.

For your convenience in searching on ModernThailand.com, we have arranged our hotel options according to the four areas as mentioned above. If you have any questions, just talk with us via our Live Help System, or send email to reservation@discount-thailand-hotels.net. We’re glad to help, – and you do not have to be our customer.

Where to Stay in Bangkok: Don Muang Airport

Written by admin on January 7th, 2014. Posted in Where to Stay in Bangkok

Don MuangLocated on Vipavadee-Rangsit Road, about 24 km north of Bangkok. This is the former international airport; it closed the same day as the opening of Suvarnabhumi Airport on September 28, 2006. It reopened in 2007 to support domestic flights. This area is quite a ways from downtown and since you will not find here well-known tourist attractions like those in Sukhumvit, Siam, and Silom, most of those who look for hotels in this area will be motivated by business or economy only. To travel from Don Muang to downtown, you cannot avoid the crowded traffic. The best way is taking a taxi straight along the express way to Jatujak Station, then taking the sky train or subway to downtown. The outbound route is easier: go to Impact Arena Muangthong Thani in 15 minutes and to Ayutthaya in 40 minutes.

Nearby Hotels Airport Suite Don Muang, Amari Don Muang Airport Hotel, Asia Don Muang Airport, Ebina House Don Muang, Grand Tower Inn (Rama VI), Miracle Grand Convention Hotel, Quality Suites Don Muang
Shopping Jae Leng Plaza, Carrefour, Zear Department Store. Shopping centers along Jangwattana Road, Central Department Store at the corner of Paholyothin Road, and Jatujak Sunday Market with its 15,000 plus retail shops selling every kind of product from clothes, jewelry, and souvenirs to furniture, pets, or plants.

Where to Stay in Bangkok: Suvarnabhumi Airport

<img height=”99″ alt=”Suvarnabhumi Airport” width=”150″ align=”right” src=”/Image/article_pic/0394_suvarnabhumi.jpg” />Located on Bangna-Trad Road, Samutprakarn Province, about 25 km east of Bangkok. From here you can travel to Pattaya in 40 minutes. Around the airport are located such interesting sites as The Ancient City, the biggest outdoor museum in the world, and Samutprakarn Crocodile Farm. However, there are not an abundance of tourist sites here, like there are downtown. This place is the connecting route from the airport to locations in Bangkok, Pattaya, and nearby cities. Accommodation around the airport is limited to a very few places on Bangna and Srinakarin Road. Because of the crowded traffic in Bangkok and lack of subway connection, transportation is not a straightforward matter. Staying in a downtown location like Sukhumvit, Silom, Siam or near the sky train or subway will be the better choice for most tourists.

How to travel from the airport – Bangkok – to nearby places?

The airport has arranged many kinds of vehicles to serve tourists. For limousine, taxi, or bus, you can contact the service counter outside the terminal building. For a bus heading to downtown choose either #551: Airport – Victory Monument (Express Way) or #552: Airport – On-nuch Station. If you want to travel from Suvarnabhumi Airport to Don Muang Airport you can take bus #554 that passes along the front road of the airport and ends at Rangsit Express Way. Or you can use the airport transfer service provided by ModernThailand.com that will take you right from the airport to your hotel and several locations in Bangkok, Pattaya, Rayong and so on. Our transportation is a private transfer along with a tour guide who will make sure you reach your destination. In the future, the transportation from airport to downtown will be more convenient with the planned Airport Link System that will connect with the sky train (Phaya Thai Station) and subway (Petchaburi Station) . The Airport Link System is expected to open next year.

Where to Stay in Bangkok: Riverside

Another interesting tourism area in Bangkok. These days boat travel along Chaophraya River is very popular. Besides the beautiful scenery and traditional Thai life style along the river, you will journey through the history of the region. It is no surprise that many tour agencies always include boat travel in their program. Along with many restaurants, the banks of Chaophraya River boast luxury 5 star hotels such as The Oriental, The Peninsula, or Shangri-la, as well as 3 star hotels that can respond to the needs of tourists who prefer a peaceful location, far from the downtown bustle. The scenery along the river at night is so beautiful, not to say romantic. Sites such as Wat Phrakaew (The Temple of Emerald Buddha), Wat Po, Wat Arun (The Temple of Dawn) can be reached by ferry boat. And if you want to pop back into town for shopping or business at Silom or Siam, you can take the sky train at Taksin Station.

Saphan Taksin Station

is the only station that connects with the boat route along Chaophraya River at Sathorn Central Pier. It also has a tourist information service.
